Look Who Flew in for the Weekend!!!

Brad a
nd Kara were here from Arizona this weekend. We had a great time with them painting... :) they also went out with friends and spent time at the Durhams.

The house painting was going great and I was really excited how well the colors were matching my 'vision' until we got to the butler's pantry. Just a note, pumpkin orange,
although a beautiful harvest color and goes well with green and wine colors for decorations, just doesn't look that well covering a wall. We'll have to redo that little room area! We should find out about the flooring today and when it will all be in. That will determine when we can move in the furniture. I can't wait!!!

Jennifer was the bravest child of the weekend, taking on the 20-foot entry way area. She cut in the ceiling line and corners. Ron climbed up to the top to get the painting done. It was pretty scary to watch!!! Saturday we stopped the painting for a little while to gather everyone for a picture. You'll have to wait until Christmas to see those results. There is, of course, a Drew picture for the weekend. (Hey - until there are others, he gets all the attention!!!) Drew likes chow mein noodles! You can sure tell he's getting older and looking all around, harder to take a picture of. In all the family pictures and most of the ones of just Matt and Ashley, Drew is looking all different directions. He's getting harder to hold still and just wants to run off! Rebekah and Dave were also around helping out. It was fun to have all the kids together again. It sure gets harder to match schedules and coordinate everybody! Until next time. . .

Congratulations Rebekah & David
Rebekah Marx will become Rebekah Mills on February 4, 2006 in the Las Vegas temple. We all will be able to remember her anniversary date of 020406. They will stay here in Las Vegas. Both are going to UNLV. David has 2-3 semesters left. He is majoring in film production. Not fair, they will have awesome home movies!!!

David is laid back, funny, and smart. He served a mission in France. They make a terrific pair together. Congrats you two - let the party planning begin!!

Happy Birthday Drew!!!
Andrew has turned one year old. Drew has had such a busy year. A few of the places he's visited are: Great-grandmother in Ojai, Calif., Disneyland, San Diego Temple, Grandparents in Goodyear, Arizona, and Lake Powell. He is a well-traveled baby! Drew is such a flirt, and loves to have a camera pointed his direction. Good job Matt & Ashley - he's adorable and I can't imagine our family without him.

I've been trying to create this really cute family newsletter to email to family and friends. No original ideas on my part, I was copying Shelly Heward. She was great on sending me to Microsoft online for templates, BUT, most of them were for publisher and I don't have that. Which sent me to my computer discs because why don't I have it. Found the Office program, I have the wazooed out one with everything on it, and the CD case says publisher is available. . ..BUT the case was EMPTY, so I can't just download the publisher program. Which sent me into a cleaning frenzy in my office, Where could this disc possibly be??? So now I've spent another week and a half not sending out this family email newsletter that I really wanted to do. Now Kara sends this cute blog thing, So I think maybe, just maybe this is the answer to what I'm trying to do. Do you think I can figure it out????? Let's see if we can add a picture. Well, kind of. Why didn't the picture go where I was writing? As you can tell - I'm so blog ignorant. Oh, and for a caption on the picture, pretty self-explanitory, Ron drowning Scott at Lake Powell. O.k. small success, This is Rebekah floating at the lake, and you can drag the picture where you want it. Maybe I can get this summer update on
th
e family done yet. And here's a picture of Scott out dinner with us -- dateless. . .

Well, now, I'll publish this and see if any of this was done right.
ugh. I'm really trying to figure this out. Kara makes it look so easy. . .
